Atlanta Georgia approves use of Electric Grills on Balconies

This just in!!  Electric Grills are approved for use on balconies in Atlanta Georgia.  The City of Atlanta, Fire Rescue Department has just notified Dimplex that PowerChef Electric Grills are not regulated by the fire code and therefore can be legally used on balconies because they do not produce open flames.  The EvenSear technology utilizes the electricity to sear food on contact while never igniting fats or grease.  This means you can grill safely with no risk of fire or smoke on your balcony or porch.

The International Fire Code regulates the use of portable cooking devices on balconies throughout the United States.  According to the IFC, Section 308.3.1, Open-flame cooking devices; Charcoal burners and other open-flame cooking devices shall not be operated on combustible balconies or within 10 feet (3048 mm) of combustible construction Luftgebläse.

This just reaffirms what PowerChef owners have known all along!  PowerChef is the safe, clean, green choice for barbecuing on your balcony.  Cliff dwellers rejoice!
