Storing Thermal Energy

Storing thermal energy is a step in the right direction for clean and renewable generation. Renewable generation like wind and tidal power operates 24 hours a day, and not always when its needed.

As renewable generation grows, smart grids require more energy storage to stay efficient. Dimplex North America is now helping electric utilities and consumers make the switch to storage heating. This technology is very popular in Europe, Dimplex’s sister companies have been manufacturing and using this technology since 1958.

Storage heaters will also help reduce your heating costs by storing the heat during the Off-Peak electrical rate. Other ways to save is to heat your electric hot water heater during Off-Peak times. Run dishwashers and clothes dryers during this same Off-Peak period.
