Canadian Home Furniture Market Recap

Dimplex kicked off the New Year with a trip to the International Center in Toronto, Ontario, for The Canadian Home Furnishings Market.  It was truly a great start to the 2014 Trade Show season, with many new innovations and trends to see and report on. The Dimplex team also made an incredible showing with a beautiful new Opti-myst display and a wide variety of furniture products.

Nothing could have prepared our team for the overwhelming response to our Opti-myst line of fireplace products.  It was common to see passersby do a double-take when they saw the dancing flame effect on display, and few could resist stepping in for a closer look.

They say that art is never created in a vacuum, and this is definitely true for Dimplex’s amazing range of furniture and fireplace designs. We loved having the opportunity to be an active part of various design industry conversations and discussions over the course of the show, drawing inspiration from and giving feedback to our colleagues and competitors.

We also loved seeing Dimplex’s BLF line of fireplaces used creatively in this amazing media console piece from Buhler, and apparently so did the good folks at TCHFM – here is a photo of one of Buhler’s trendy new designs incorporating the BLF50. The modern styling makes this an appealing choice for any forward-thinking decorator.

Attending this show really gives our team the chance to see what kind of trends and colour palettes are upcoming and what design choices we should be making to complement upcoming fashions and designs.  There is nothing better than being able to bring a product to market that is perfectly on point with the cutting edge of modern design trends, and it’s what our design teams strive for.

All in all, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to chat with many clients and colleagues over the course of the show.  We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
