I would like to see blogs about the new baseboard heaters and wall heaters that are soon to be released. Sometimes it can be very difficult to learn about and understand a new product. Even insignificant details can help us get started with new products. I would also like to see detailed information about the all the other electric heaters and thermostats.

Just found this site. I have the original Dimplex electric fireplace insert (2 yrs. +) that is mounted into an antique mantel. Have posted to YouTube along with others interested in these units. Still waiting for the Opti-myst insert. Have found one offered along with a mantel that I do not need. It’s quite pricey. I think there would be a huge market for the insert option if the price is reasonable.

Theresa – Can you send us a link of your YouTube video – would love to see it.

Hi Chad! I’m not quite sure how to do that but will try the copy and paste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eWzlaOHoCQ

FYI … I have been doing a little research since there’s must interest in the Opti-myst. Maybe this would be the venue to use? I’m not connected to either of these companies. I want one of the Opti-myst fireboxes so badly but right now they are out of my price range. I’ve checked a couple of sources online and it appears (the Good News) the Opti-myst 25″ firebox (insert) is now available in the U.S.! Yahhhh It costs around $1,900 though. I saw the listing on Hechlers (no price listed) and emailed electricfireplacesdirect.com. They indicated they were carrying this model but didn’t have it posted to their site yet. I find it incredible that one could purchase the firebox AND the mantel and the price difference is only $100.

I also would like to purchase an opti myst free standing stove in California. Waiting and waiting…still no one carries it. We have numerous really annoying no-burn days here and I’m tired of having my holidays go by without a fire. When will these be released to the US? I’ve been looking since 2008, I think.

  • Kelly on October 30th, 2011 at 7:17pm

    Thanks Chad,
I’d hoped to find one of the freestanding stoves. The firebox won’t really fit into my fireplace space, so had thought about a stove instead. Any idea of availability of these any time soon in the States? It seems like Youtube has a zillion posts all over Europe for them, but sadly none here yet. I think it’s totally a missed market.
    Thanks for your info.

    Hi Chad,
I’m talking about the Cadogan type optimyst stoves that seem to be available in UK and Europe. Any time estimations on when those particular types of things will be available in the US? I think Dimplex is missing a HUGE market in the states for these fireplaces. Particularly since here, in the Bay Area, we have many, many no-burn days during winter months. Last winter, they called no burn days on both Thanksgiving AND Christmas.
I think these stoves would sell like hotcakes.
They certainly would be part of my house if available. I already have a Celeste, but would trade it out for an optimyst style stove in a heartbeat!

    • chad on November 11th, 2011 at 6:37pm

I don’t have an estimation at this time, I have sent your comment to the product managers and VP. Thank you for your feedback

The opti myst product looks outstanding and many people in the US are excited about it (especially the stand-alone stove versions seen in the U.K.)

It sure seems like a huge mistake to release the video of a great product almost a year ago, and not take advantage of the sales market in the US. This looks like a pretty bad blunder my the management over at Dimplex, as the revenue it would create in the states seems to be beyond substantial.

    • chad on December 20th, 2011 at 3:06pm

Thank you for your interest in Dimplex and specifically the Optimyst product. While we currently do not sell the insert on its own, we do have some beautiful mantels available with the Optimyst technology, please visit our website for more information. This product is available in North America, if you are interested in purchasing the Optimyst fireplace please use our dealer locator to find the closet Dimplex dealer to you or contact our customer service department for more information and dealer locations.

I have a question about the Opti Myst European models-do you know if Dimplex will ever come up with a special power cord or an adaptor so they can be sold in the US, or an American model with an assortment of trim packages?

    • chad on February 29th, 2012 at 2:49pm

      Hello Edith,

We won’t be offering a special adapter for the european models. Right now the OptiMyst comes as a firebox and two mantel packages, we will continue to make new packages in the future.

  • Edith on March 1st, 2012 at 7:26pm

    Hi Chad-

The reason I asked about the European models is because I love the style and technology-I would be very proud to have one in my home. Dimplex has rendered every other fireplace obsolete as far as I’m concerned.
Will Dimplex be coming out with a European style fireplace insert for the US? I think they should give this serious consideration, because it would become the most coveted fireplace in existence and would sell out in a heartbeat. I agree with the previous poster that Dimplex has missed their market here.

    Thanks for your time.

    • chad on March 5th, 2012 at 6:20pm

      Hello Edith,

We won’t be bringing the european models over, but we will be coming up with something similar that is best suited for the North American market.

  • Edith on March 5th, 2012 at 8:10pm

    Hi Chad-
I hope they are exact duplicates, with the wiring being the only difference. How soon will they become available, and is there any chance of a price reduction, so we are being charged the same price as the UK? The firebox you’re selling to the US looks like the Albany model, which retails for £450, $712.35 USD. It seems very unfair for Dimplex to charge the US $1999.00 for it. It makes me wonder what they’ll charge for the Cavendish, if they decide to make it available.
I also want to let you know that scammers may be phishing your distributor’s websites. I clicked on a link for ElectricFireplacesDirect.com that had a wrong name on the security certificate. The chat agent that I spoke to (Cathy) knew nothing about your product line.

    • chad on March 9th, 2012 at 2:58pm

      Hey Edith,

The model we are going to be bringing to the market will not be an exact replica, as it will be modified for the North American market and priced competitively.

Thanks for your interest, I hope it was helpful.

  • Edith on March 9th, 2012 at 6:13pm

    Hi Chad-

I think Dimplex should make exact replicas of the entire OptiMyst product line, with the only exception being the wiring and voltage requirements, in order to avoid disappointing their customers and limiting their market. Remember that it has been seen on YouTube, and the vast majority of US customers have most likely chosen the model they want for their home. After visiting the North America website, I was brought up short and very disappointed when I found out that the one I chose wasn’t available, and saw how limited the selection was for the Americans vs. the Europeans. It is a major blunder for management to have left such a bad impression.

Please forward this message to them. Thank you for your time-I won’t be taking up any more of it.

    Hi Chad,
I agree with Edith – they should make at least some of the European models available, that is what sold them in the first place. I am ready now to purchase an Optimyst, and am very disappointed that the only two I can find are the absolutely atrocious Rockwell Modern 3D and the Renwick. I wouldn’t have the Rockwell in my home; it is just simply poor art and unattractive. The Renwick is passable but rather bland and without the style and charm of the Charlotte or the Danville or other European models. If the sales are slow here, I’m not surprised – you present the two most unattractive models possible and offer only them! Whose idea of what suits the North American market are they using? If there was a strategy to undermine successful sales of this product in the US, seems like they have found it and are implementing it. These are expensive units, as electric fireplaces go, so your market is going to be discriminating – and willing to pay two or three times as much for the Opti-Myst as any other electric fireplace. It seems that they are making a determination of what North America wants based on what the big box, discount store shopping American buys – that is not your market here. They cannot afford and will not pay the prices for this product so why cater to them. You have a huge market here that can afford and will pay the price, if you offer them the product that displays the style and taste they expect. Please forward my message to them, for whatever it might be worth. Thank you.

Hi, I have LPC Heaters installed in my Vacation Home with the Remote Thermostat. Since this home is 2 hours away I would like to access the Thermostat via the INternet or something. I just installed a Z Wave \thermostat (from Trane) at home it is is excellent with access from anywhere.

Does Dimplex have this or will you have this ?? If not, is there a way \i can get information in order to inerface with the Remote stat ???

    • Ashley on May 3rd, 2013 at 2:43pm

Hi Richard! Great question, thanks for contacting us! Dimplex currently does not have a product that allows you to access our thermostats via the Internet. We do see remote monitoring as one of the next logical steps for CONNEX. I will make sure to pass this feedback along to our new product development team, as this is the kind of insight they are always interested to hear about. Thanks and have a great day!

Definitely adding a +1 for connex with a smart thermostat system. I’d like per-room occupancy sensing and weather awareness.
