Grilling in the Winter Months

Just because summer is officially over, doesn’t mean grilling has to be. For those of us that live in a climate where warm weather comes only half the year, we tend to miss out on the enjoyment that grilling can bring during the colder months. However, this doesn’t have to be the case, as new technologies allow us to enjoy year round grilling even on the coldest days.

How great would it be to be able to grill in your garage or on your balcony during the harsh winter months? With an electric grill, you can do just that. There are many features on an electric grill versus a gas or charcoal grill that can make winter grilling easier.  Electric grills require no tanks, and because they do not smoke, they also require no ventilation; therefore you can easily and safely bring your electric grill right inside your closed garage and start grilling up a delicious meal that will warm your entire family.

It’s Cold Outside

The colder outdoor air means longer cooking times when working with a gas grill, but with an electric grill your food is cooked on contact, so don’t have to worry about starting the grill up 20 minutes earlier.

The Days are Shorter

Trying to grill a good steak at 6:00 p.m. in the winter months is like trying to cook in your kitchen with no lights on. A bonus to electric grills is finding light accessories that can help you to cook late into the evening, allowing you to set your own dinner schedule.

Let it Snow

Lastly, with winter comes some sort of precipitation, making it difficult to keep your grill dry and warm. By storing and cooking with your grill in your garage the harsh winter climate will not be a factor for your electric grill. While you can always use a cover to help keep your grill dry, the biggest thing is not having to worry about the lid being cold and affecting the inside temperature. As mentioned before, electric grills cook on contact as the elements are what do the work, therefore you could literally cook with the lid open and still get the same grilling time and results.

So it doesn’t matter where you live or what cold weather may come your way, with an electric grill you can keep grilling your favourite recipes year round.
