How you can become a PowerChef?

Now that the grilling season is well under way (some areas we are still fighting mother nature). If the idea of being the best grill-er in your neighbourhood appeals to you, I am going to outline a few things that can make you grill like a PowerChef.

Get yourself a PowerChef Grill!

It’s not rocket science, but for you to become a PowerChef you need a PowerChef grill. It makes your job that much easier, the PowerChef Convertible Electronic grill will actually cook your food for you. With the EvenSear Dual Elemenet Cooking System, that heats the entire 216 sq. in. grilling surface that reaches over 600° F is an ideal grilling/searing temperature.

Start with good ingredients

There is no doubt that your ingredients play an integral part in grilling. Find yourself a local butcher, to get good lean cut meats like a nice thick fillet or a good rack of ribs. Be sure to visit your local market for fresh seasonal produce. You can choose to grill some asparagus, peppers and sweet potatoes or create a nice spring salad.

It’s all in the sauces

The true advantage of gaining the title of a PowerChef is to make your own sauces. Stay away from those store bought sauces, that are full of preservatives, sugars and additives. Challenge yourself to make your own barbecue sauce, spice rubs, marinades and even salad dressings. It’s all about experimenting, and being creative. Whether you prefer a spicy chipotle, or a sweet honey garlic sauce, it’s not as hard as you may think.

Put it all together

Now that you have your lean cuts of meat, fresh vegetables and a container of your own homemade sauce, how to put it together. You can head over to the our PowerChef website to view some of our recipes or you can dig out some old recipes from your great PowerChef ancestors.

Be sure to Like us on Facebook to enter our Grill Like a Pro sweepstakes for your chance to win a PowerChef electric grill pacakge.

    Hey Chad,
I’m getting a PBQ 120. Mine comes with a skillet. Are there some recipes and techniques for baking and frying with the skillet? I want to make pizza and also cook up breakfast. Thx.
